A touch of ego

I spent three hours today doing onsite testing for a client of ours. Their aircon is freezing! The moment I stepped outside and into the sun (did anyone just hear the music to The Lion King then?) I was reminded about how I loved the boiling hot days at my last job, because it was so cold in the office. Hehe.
Anyway, I have the day off tomorrow which is exciting. My company has a policy called the “long weekend policy” and it basically says that for every month that there is not a public holiday, every employee should get one day off. I’m really looking forwad to it as I have a ton of stuff that I just want to get done.
The down side of having the day off is that it means that you have to work doubly hard to get five days worth of work into four… So aside from doing my onsite testing today I have had to get a few projects that I’m managing out the door, deal with a crisis between us and another vendor, close a bunch of outstanding support issues and work on a template for a client who wants something to see “now”. Icky.
But it’s now almost 4PM and I have three of those four items done and I am working on the last one (the templates) now. So boo to me =) I rule =)

aw what a nice policy for your company to have! Im sure employees will appreciate that extra day off even if you do have to work a bit harder during the other days ;).
