An action packed long weekend!
Monday January 29, 2007

Wow, what a weekend. On Friday it was Australia Day, which (forgive me for being a little selfish here) was wonderful because we didn’t have to go to work. Yay public holiday!

I went to a friends housewarming, and I have got to say her place is gorgeous. The inside is all polished floor boards, they have this gorgeous rustic yet modern looking fire place, air conditioning for the summer and beautiful furniture. And they have a tiny pool =)

It was nice to go to the housewarming because she had invited school friends that I had not seen in an age. I missed Christmas dinner with them all last year, because of my trip to Adelaide, so it was nice to catch up. My god some of my friends are over achievers. Lol.

Then in the evening I went out with Vincent and his friends for dinner to this yummy ribs and rump place. We had a “Ribs & Ribs Combo”, which truly defeated us. We ended up having to take half of it home…

On Saturday we went to Centennial Park for a picnic, with my sister and bro-in-law and the same friends we went out with for dinner… It was so frickin’ windy! It wasn’t too enjoyable eating in conditions like that, but we got to feed the ducks (and we even spotted an eel). Actually, feeding the ducks was funny… I was standing at the pond wondering why my ankles felt kind of scratchy and then I noticed that Vincent was dropping breadcrumbs around my feet and the pigeons were pecking at me. Owwww =( Hehe.

The wind drove us indoors and we ended up 10 pin bowling. That was so much fun, except for the part where the bowling ball tried to rip my thumbnail off. Vincent won the first game and my sister kicked our butts in the second game. All I can say is that I did not come last!

Then in the evening we went to my sisters place for dinner. She cooks the nicest food (but then again, her being a chef and all, how could I expect anything less).

And on Sunday it was a really sleepy day. I think I’m getting a little sick because I had zero energy. We went out and did the grocery shopping and after that I fell asleep on the couch, and then I had a three hour “nap”. At around 6 we went for a walk and checked out some of the nicer houses in our area. Then it was home again, ironing, dinner and the tennis. Go Federer! Vincent thinks that he’d be able to kick Pete Sampras’ butt all too easily (if he was at the height of his career), but I dunno… what do you think?

Sounds like you had a really fun weekend. I lol’d when I read that part about the pigeons pecking at your ankles though. If it were me, I would have panicked. I don’t fear them or anything like that, but if they were to get that close to me I’d flip out.

I hope you’re not getting sick! Perhaps you just had such little energy on Sunday because the rest of the weekend was so busy.

Wow, I bet their house was nice. Gee, polished hardwood floors. Wow.

Ribs, picnicking, bowling, and dinner at your sisters. Friday and Saturday sound like they were too much fun for you.

Gee, hopefully you’re not getting sick. That’d be lame. But at least you still had a good time on Sunday.

Wow, you did have an action packed weekend. It’s always nice to catch up with old friends, especially when you haven’t seen them in a while. I would be scared to death if pidgeons were anywhere near me, I’ve seen too many freaky bird movies. haha.
