Hey guess what everybody? I now own a home! Well, ok, it’s only a unit but it’s mine!!!

We have been searching since October/November of last year and on Wednesday the place that we had under contract settled. That means it’s now officially mine, and no-one (except may the bank under dire circumstances) can take it away =)

My unit

Is a 2 bedroom unit. It has over 100 square metres of internal space, which for the price we got it for, is very rare (normally they have around 70-75 square metres of internal space) and it has a lock up garage with a store-room attached to it.

It has a big arse kitchen. Vincent doesn’t believe that I can cook, but he told my sister that at least in there I have “plenty of room to learn”. Haha. I can cook – I just lack confidence to cook any exciting new dishes =)

It’s in the suburb that we wanted to buy in. At first we were looking a little closer to the city, but the units are there were too expensive and they weren’t all that nice. So we started looking one suburb away, and that’s where we bought.

It’s near public transport. I work in the city, so it’s very impractical to drive – therefore we needed to find a place near either buses or trains. Apparently we’re just around the corner from buses that go both into the city and also into the north, so I’m covered =)

It’s near Vincent’s work. Right now Vincent is driving all the way across the city – taking 45 minutes to an hour each way – to get to and from work. Once we move out, he will only be 20-30 minutes away from work. That’s a bonus for him too.

So yeh, it’s all good and very exciting.

I’m very happy =) We have a ton of renovations to do before we move in and now the belt buckles have tightened over out budget, but we’ll make do and when it’s done I’ll post up photos.
