I feel relieved

I just came back from the doctors. A while ago I had a general checkup and the test results came back as “abnormal”. Well! For the last… oh… 8 weeks I’ve been stressing that I might have any number of problems, but as it turns out I only have an infection. Yay!
Who would have thought that being told you had an infection could be good news =)
Oh! I have to do a really big plug for Piczo (yet another online community!?), because unlike myspace and friendster and all of those sites, this one actually has a decent copyright policy and abuse reporting system.
So someone (still don’t know who) hotlinked this image, promptly sucking up my bandwidth, about two days ago. So I emailed their copyright people, and within 24 hours the link was gone.
I was/am really impressed by this. I wish that more online community site owners would take this level of responsibility more often.
So yeh! Go Piczo =)

That’s great news that it’s only an infection it could have been something much worse. I will check out piczo. Nver been to that site before.

im not sure, but im pretty sure, depending on if you have a c-panel or not… you have hot link protection, which blocks anyone from hotlinking except for the sites you choose, so you can hot link if you have an avatar you want to use on a forum or something as such. might be worth looking in to. ;)

It’s a good thing that you caught the culprit in time. It’s due time that there is a site whose abuse reporting system actually works. There was a girl who copied my blog entries and changed some names, and when I emailed the copyright team, they didn’t act immediately. But the entries are gone now, thank goodness.
I hope this hotlinking issue does not happen again with you. =)

I’m really happy that all you have is an infection, I hope the infection itself wasn’t too serious! Go Piczo, hehe. I might consider joining if I knew more people on it though, but I’m glad they got rid of the evil hotlinker.

The piczo thing looks interesting. It does seem a lot better than myspace…

Within 24 hours is amazing! Wow, they did take quite a long time to find out what you have and let you stress about it. But it’s good that it’s “only” an infection.
