I want to beat my fists against the floor and have a temper tantrum

I am soooooooooo sick of programming. Not since I left my last job (and this was 2 years and 11 months ago) have I had to sit and stare at the same code for this long.

My review will be coming up in the next few weeks (I think by the end of this month) and I think I’m going to have to bring this up. I really don’t enjoy it any more (if in fact, I ever did).

I hate that I seem to be one of those people pigeon holed into what they appear to be good at. I remember when I first applied for my job, I was hoping to get out of programming and in fact I thought that this would be the perfect opportunity to do so. The manager who interviewed me thought I had good design skills and was starting to give me good opportunities to pursue a career in graphic design. Unfortunately she changed jobs and voila! There I am stuck in a job I don’t have the mind for.

I am so bored, and so frustrated. And I’m frustrated that I’m bored, because what I am doing is supposed to be difficult and interesting stuff. Sigh.

For some strange reason I’m wishing that it was 4 months ago and I was stressed out of my mind about a difficult account being handed over to me. The grass is greener… yadda yadda yadda.

Anyway, enough of my rant. Want to see the dresses I tried on the other day?

Wedding Dress 01 Wedding Dress 02

Pretty hey? The picture on the right… the version of the dress I tried on had a really nice longer train (than the one in the photo).

I can’t wait to try on more, but they were the only ones that I liked in the store at the time.

Ooh, I love the one on the left! So gorgeous.
I hope the anger gets better for you soon.

Ha! I hate programming too! It’s so boring at times but then the end result is usually worth it! Good luck!

That’s really unfair that it turned out that way, that your hiring manager got transferred and someone else made you do something you weren’t hired to do. I do think you should complain and ask for something else, something you were promised. Those dresses are lovely. I like the first one.

Programming drives me crazy sometimes – staring at one piece of code for ages gets really annoying. Hope it doesn’t drive you too insane.
Wow, those are lovely dresses :)

I hear you, but a job is a job I suppose, right? I hate my job, I thought everyone was supposed to hate their jobs, lol.

I loved programming. But i stopped coding since my job was not about it and more of system administration. I am trying to get back at it though, so I’d have more skills than I thought. But yea, it’s kinda tiring and a little bit frustrating once you have done the whole code and it won’t work and those bugs that you need to debug. lol.

I like the picture on the left better myself. :)

That’s one of my biggest fears actually, getting stuck doing a job that I’m interested in or like but after so long begin hating/disliking it. That’s why I didn’t major in graphics design or anything computer related. I enjoy it in my spare time, it’s not something I want to do as work in and out. Ya know?

Good luck with work, I hope you manage to turn it around to the job you actually want to do.

The dresses both lok beautiful :)

I have to say that I like the dress on the right better.

    Good luck with your job.
