Inspired responsibility
Friday April 21, 2006

I bought myself the newest Live CD the other day… I love it =) Buy it!!

Anyway, I didn’t have a clear idea of what I wanted to blog about today but since it is my lunch break, and I don’t have a computer to use at home right now I thought I would pick up on an “new old” thread in my life.

It’s all about responsibility

I have recently been given “additional duties” so-to-speak, at work… I’m really pleased about it, but I’m also really scared. You see, I don’t like being the fall-guy, and when you get more responsibility in your work you become accountable – and sometimes accountability sucks.

You could say that my MO is to be the silent partner. I like to push and get my way, but when it comes to the lime-light, someone else can take it.

This process has worked quite well for me, up until now.

Now I think I’m at the turning point in my career, where the decisions and the steps that I make now will hugely impact my future and I’ve come to realise that if people don’t know you’re there, you’re not going to get places.

Now for the semi-inspirational jab

So now I’ve come to the following conclusions…

If you want to succeed, you shouldn’t be afraid of the consequences because they’re not always bad – and no matter what they are, you learn from them.

If you don’t take chances you’ll never see your full potential, and if you’re too afraid to try something you’ll regret it for the rest of your life.

So don’t live with regrets and don’t be afraid to be somebody.

And the lame reflection

I suck at inspirational writing. Lol. I think I need to do this in a better surrounding!!! Blogging at work leaves me feeling a little self-conscious, even if it is in my lunch break.

Anyway, take care and listen to good music =)

Live has a new album?!? My God, where have I been? And they’re like, one of my fave bands of all time! makes mental note to zoom to nearest CD shop

I think you’re good at inspirational writing. You really struck a chord in me when you said that one shouldn’t be afraid of the consequences because they’re not always bad and they always entail a learning experience. That’s something for people who are afraid of ‘failure’, or rather, making a mistake. The only time you can fail is that if you don’t learn from that experience.

    Take care!
