It's a friday and I'm not at work?
Friday June 8, 2007

I know that my last few posts have been all about the cats, and that this one is in part going to be no exception, but I promised some better pictures of Karamello…

... And how cute is this one of Holly?

She was cleaning herself at the time =)

In other non-cat related news, I have the day off. This means an extra ‘specially long weekend for me (because it’s a public holiday on Monday too). So why do I have the day off?

I worked some crazy as hours over the last two weeks, trying to get this important project out the door (which in actuality was 6 important projects all rolled into one). It was so stressful, it being on top of all of the other crap I’ve had to do at work, so yesterday at about 3.30 I broke down. Just burst into tears at my desk, and told the resource guy that I was about ready to walk out and never come back. Anyway, to cut a long story short, he rang my manager and told him, and then my manager rang me and said “take the day off tomorrow, you need to”, and I said “no, I need to take some time off later in the month”, and he said “no, take the day off tomorrow and take a day off later in the month”. Sweet.

So I got up at 6.30 this morning, let the cats out and fed them. Said “bye” to Vincent as he headed out the door around 45 minutes later, and then went back to bed, not emerging until 9. I think I needed it. I feel much better now.

And today is going to be more productive. I’m going to open a new bank account, clean the house, go to the gym and make something nice for dinner.

Wish me luck!

Days off are especially great when we’re supposed to be “working.” LOL. Maybe I should learn how to cook a good dinner… :P

I wish you luck; remember procrastination isn’t your friend! Your cat actually looks adorable. Which, as I hate cats, is really saying something. :P

Days off are great, especially when you were originally supposed to be at work. I used to use my days off to catch up on my sleep, which was usually lacking due to the partying I did on my previous day(s) off. lol

By the way, adorable kitties! They’re almost as cute as mine. ^^

Thank goodness your manager is so understanding. I’m glad to read that you did get a day off and manage to squeeze in some sanity and enjoyment back into your life. And don’t stop with kitten posts – I love cats! :)

not many managers would give those days off. my managers are understanding too, which is good. there’s nothing worse than working in a place where the managers don’t care for their employees well-being. Having time off is the best thing, especially when you’ve been working hard. I always feel refreshed and like working again.
