It's been a while and all I have is a rant about work

I haven’t blogged in a long time. I can’t quite decide whether it’s because I feel I have nothing interesting to blog about, or because I’ve been so busy that I have nothing left in my to write a decent entry. Maybe there’s no difference…

It’s 6.30 in the morning, an Karamello is doing her best to distract me from the computer. She’s such an attention whore. No matter what you’re doing, you’d better hope like hell it has something to do with her or she’ll attack you. Hahaha. So naughty.

We have a new manager at work. Instead of having a production manager, the new manager is an operations manager. This means that she is taking on the role of production manager, but extending it over the entire operation team (in other words, not just developers, designers and quality control). I think that it’s a really good move. She hasn’t had a proper handover yet (from my old manager) so she hasn’t done much, but she seems really nice and knowledgeable.

I hope that she will be able to help make the team (production team) happier. It’s a little miserable being at work sometimes because people are so stressed all the time lately.

But I’m really disappointed that the things my old manager and I spoke about recently (about not overloading me with work) once again don’t seem to be happening (in fact, I was told that they wouldn’t happen). I think that it’s so unfair that I get left hanging. I was at work until 10 last night and I didn’t take lunch yesterday either. That’s a 14.5 hour day, doing nothing be development work. I have other work I need to somehow fit in as well. How does that work?

Oh well… I get this coming Friday and Monday off as compensation… I guess. Or at least it would be if I didn’t know that it was compensation for all the psycho hours I have been working over the last few weeks. Sigh.

Anyway, I’m off to get ready for work.
