Wedding plans... sigh to the backseat drivers...

All this wedding planning is tiring work! Actually, it’s been quite fun, but I feel very pressured to get everything done far too soon. I don’t understand why I need to have everything booked by the end of this month. Yes, the big things – celebrant, venues etc. – but I feel very pressured by everyone that I should have my hair and makeup booked, my dress being made and my bridesmaids taken care of. And don’t forget the flowers, the photographer, the MC
I don’t think so!
Sigh… it’s so easy for people to be back seat drivers. They should try dealing with all this!
But I think we’ve finalised the big things now. We have the ceremony venue, we have tentatively booked a celebrant (or two – we need to decide between them) and we have tentatively booked the reception venue.
On Saturday we went to the reception venue to check that the food was still good. It’s a Chinese restaurant (as we will have a Chinese banquet) and the funniest thing was the managers face as he tried to work out how the two Caucasians could fit in (my parents), when there were were four Asians at the table also.
Anyway, now I’m going to focus on dresses, flowers and invitations. I am probably going to make our invitations, so I’ll keep you updated on how that goes!

!!!! I know how you feel! Everyone is telling me that I need to do this or that for my wedding too and I just want it to stop!
As long as you don’t succumb to anything you don’t want, it will all be ok in the end!

happy new year! yeah planning isn’t easy. and i’m a media planner as my job so it gets kinda crazy! i think the dress and bridesmaids are up there in priority but makeup and hair can wait until the other stuff is done, no? yay for chinese banquets! they’re fun to go to but i told myself i was going to have an “american” wedding. keep us updated on the invitations! :)

Oh, wow. That does sound hectic. Although it’s important that these things get done, pace yourself. You don’t want go crazy over it. It’s just a wedding. The marriage is what’s really important. I think you should just go with your heart and do what you want to do! It is YOUR wedding after all.
